What do you think of this name?

It's nice, although I personally prefer Clara. Claire is my niece's name, her mother is a huge Outlander fan. Her full name is Claire Skye.

Claire is very interesting to me as a girls' name in the USA which has consistently been much more popular with college-educated parents than working class parents for decades now. It's really one of the most "class-marked" names in American society. From its usage pattern it's easy to see Claire playing tennis at a country club. :)

Dated and drab. I also know an awful Claire, which really puts me off.

I like it! Growing up I wasn’t a huge fan of it (it came across as a “mean girl in a movie” kind of name) but over time I’ve really grown to like it. It’s got a very crisp sound to it, and isn’t overused. Very classy sounding.

I love Clare and would gladly use it IRL. Claire ... I'd put it in the same category as Isabelle - faux-French for no good reason.

I really like it a lot. I actually know a girl named Claire and another named Klaire.

It's timeless and goes with nearly everything, similar to Anne and Marie, stands out more as a first name than as a middle name.
