Re: HELP: Annora or Leonora?!
in reply to a message by mltg
Annora Eve is so pretty! Unusual, but instantly recognisable; shorter and rhythmically superior to Leonora; wonderful meaning, which is subtle and surprising ... I would honestly look no further. Leonora is too long for daily use, but Annora isn't; plus, if yu need a nickname, there's Nora and Ann (or Annie) ready-made.

I think so too! And I think you hit a nail on the head with how my husband is sold on Annora. Just torn between the two. We pronounced Leonora as ‘Len-Nora’ with no ‘O’ sound. Not that we’re bothered with pronouncing it with the ‘O’ either. We really liked the idea of ‘Leni’ or ‘Leo’ as a nickname; and now that’s out the window with hubby when Annora came to town. I do like ‘Nora’ as a nickname as well.
