I quite like it, I like Tamiko even better. I haven't really heard of anyone with this name in the UK, so I don't have any particular connotations with it.

I like it, but yeah: all Ta- names have a bad reputation. And Mika is a perfectly appropriate nickname. I wish people weren't so centered on "ghetto-ness".

Where I live, it's considered a "ghetto" style name. That aside, I don't think it would age well. It also reminds me of a Topeka, Kansas.

Its outdated and very whiny sounding. Its kind of like Makayla that way.

I like that it has a positive energy but it's not necessarily my style

It's so bright and cheerful. Really cute.
However, like a lot of "black" names, this one was in style quite briefly, and then very quickly became dated. It didn't get used much at all across other ethnic groups like Natasha and Dominique did, and so it feels even more dated than it should be. It's like Ebony that way.

I think it’s a fine name. I picture a millennial African American woman to have this name. Mika is a cute nickname.
