Siblings for Zanthia and Casper (girls)
Hi everybody,I have now discussed at length with my boyfriend girls names. Though there's some we didn't agree on, we have a similar taste. He likes my favourites and he's happy to use them (Zanthia and Casper)Here are the girl options for the siblings of Zanthia and Casper. You're welcome to post your opinions on the names, but I'm more asking which names fit better as a sibset with the top two picks. Amity
Andromeda
Astrid
Daphne
Jinora
Matilda
Maven
Melanie
Roxanne
Tamara
VelmaI will also create a poll, but I want to do that after we've discussed boys names properly.Thank you in advance :)---"one particular boogie will move mirror massaging with stirring crepe mixture, positioning loaves while in the furnace then toting items in containers" ~ best Russian daing sites (guest, 198.144.149.xxx) (2020)Formally PrincessZ and Princess Magpie

I would say Amity, Maven, Jinora, or Velma fit best. Because they look unconventional, and I probably wouldn't name a sister to Casper (f) something very feminine looking, unless it was unconventional in some way like Zanthia. I also probably like that Velma looks roughly the same age (early 20th century) to me as Casper; Astrid would work in that way, too, but I'm on the fence about if it looks too popular (Matilda is, I think), comparatively.I think Melinoe would fit better than Melanie, and I'd like Roska or Ronja more with them than Roxanne, but I do like Melanie and Roxanne just in general, and they don't sound bad with the other names - only noticeably more conventional seeming to me.I think I like Jinora with them in particular because it reminds me of antique names like Jincy and Elnora. And I like how word names like Maven and Amity sound with them.

You make a great point with Velma, actually. We talked about it and it's looking like we're going to stick to the more unconventional side for a first name and a "boring traditional" name for the middle names. Names we like, of course, but are far more normal and familiar. We've discussed Rose, Gwen, Lorraine, Winifred etc for that. We might ultimately use the more normal of the names like Roxanne and Melanie as middles also, but we're still discussing that (currently stuck on boys names - we agree a lot less on that front)I like how Jinora looks both unusual and familiar at the same time - it has the "boring and old" Nora, but with the more youthful "Jin-" prefix which reminds me of Ginny / GinervaThank you for your response :)

Casper reminds me of the Biblical myth and Zanthia of the Greek myth, so I'd go with a name along that line.I love Maven (Irish myth) with your set. Familiar but unique.

I had no idea that Casper was connected to a Biblical myth. Actually, looking it up, I'm rather surprised nobody ever mentioned the names of the three wise men in my school years (as I went to Roman Catholic schools). Thank you for replying and for your suggestions :)

I think Daphne, Velma or Roxanne would work well together with Casper and Zanthia. The other name that came to mind after reading your list was Octavia. Casper, Octavia and Zanthia - ah, actually - after looking at them together I suppose Octavia and Zanthia are too similar. I think that Morgana has a similar vibe as well. Zanthia, Casper and Morgana.

I like Octavia and Morgana, too :) Thank you for your opinion

Ooh, fun names. What a crackly set. There's almost something pleasing like ASMR about Zanthia and Casper together. My favorites to go with those two, as a set, are:Amith
Velma
Roxanne

Thank you on your opinion on which names go best :)I admit, I might have been more inclined to go with Xanthia if I had found this name independently, but as I associate it with a character from toddler age, I'm afraid I have to switch the letters. If I don't, I'd end up misspelling my own kids name constantly. It's also too obscure for most people to truly care, I think.

I don't mean to be rude, but I personally prefer Jasper to Casper; Casper reminds me too much of the ghost. However, I can appreciate the uniqueness of Casper on a girl; Cassie could be a beautiful nickname. Though, if it were me, I'd use Cassie (as a full name) or Jasper. Anyways, I'm so happy that you guys could agree on these names; what truly matters is that you're (both) happy with your children's names. Checking out your list, I immediately see some of my favorite girl names: Roxanne, Maven, and Melanie. I also have to say, I especially love the name Tamara with this sib-set; it's just a gorgeous name, and it sounds natural to me. Matilda would be another great choice, because it's uncommon (like her sister's names) and very beautiful, too. As for my own suggestions, I'd go with:
Estellene
Anora
Alanis ("Uh-lawn-ihs")
Aliora
Morgan / Morgana
Maxine
Christella
Nadine
Wrenna
Faye

Casper (the ghost) is the reason why I prefer Casper over Jasper :) I was a big fan when I was a kid. Most of my favourite names have been taken from media because that's where I get my largest positive impressions of names. And negative ones. I think I'd always prefer Casper over Jasper, but one thing that Jasper has that more negative is Jasper and Horace; the two crooks Cruella hires in 101 Dalmatians. Not that it ruins the name, mind. Casper is going up in popularity in the UK and I had to admit, getting on a little more than I'd like. It was always a bonus that Casper would grow some usage so that it becomes more normalised, but I guess I got the monkey's paw kinda deal. Thank you for your opinions on what goes better with the two top picks. I actually think a fair few 70s and 80s names goes well with Zanthia because of its similarity to Cynthia. Thank you also for the suggestions :)
