Thoughts on this combo?
What do you think of the combo Robert Jay? The surname starts with an N.Do you prefer Robert Leo? It was originally Robert Leon but I really don't like Leon but would compromise for Leo I guess.

I think Robert Jay is pretty good. I don't think Leo fits as a middle name in almost any situation.

Personally, I prefer Leo as a name in general and in this context, however Robert Jay isn’t bad at all and I don’t know if you ought to go with a name that you’d have to compromise for, so if you really like Jay I would say you should go for that, if that makes sense

I like Robert Jay. I like the name Jay more than I like Leo.
For a middle name, Jay comes across as an initial name, to me. Like there is no name, only an initial as the name.
It doesn't really matter, just something to think about.
If I were going to be born as Robert N. tomorrow, and could choose the middle name between Jay or Leo - I'd probably prefer to be Robert Leo. Or Leon, but I think Leo flows better with an N surname. Partly I'd prefer it because Leo sounds "younger" than Jay, too.

Love Robert, Jay is just kinda there. Unless it has meaning to you would suggest sonething just a bit...more. Jason?

It does have meaning. Both are family names. I also don’t like Jason. I’m just compromising on Jay.

If it has meaning I'd use that, similar is Jayden, still has the Jay included

I hate Jayden.

I like Robert Jay a lot. Only drawback I can see is the likelihood of people misunderstanding and asking what j stands for. But that's pretty minor.
