Nevaeh
Yesterday I met a 3 month old little girl and her name was Nevaeh. My mom and I thought it was very pretty. I just want to know you all think of this name.

I like Neve, and its etymology. That "aeh" really gets to me. Nevaeh is not a name to me.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! *runs away screaming*Sorry, like many others, I cannot STAND this name. But I'd never look at a person who already had a child with this name (much less the child), and say 'Your kid's name is trashy,' or anything like that. Also, there have been "rumors" on the Internet that the name Nevaeh is Slavic for "butterfly." This is WRONG. It's a WORD spelled BACKWARDS! (Sorry, I guess you hit a nerve. lol)[edited to add text]

I don't like it at all. It's trendy, trashy, lightweight, and dated (or will be, in 50 years). That said, if you must use it, spell it Nevaeh. As much as I hate Nevaeh, I absolutely despise Neveah and other such "spellings", because Nevaeh's supposed to be "Heaven" backwards, and Neveah (for example) defeats that whole purpose by spelling "Heaven" "Haeven". And that's just illiterate and stupid to me.Miranda

the backwards thing...Usually things that are spelled backwards or things that are 'backwards' mean the opposite or something negative. So to me, Nevaeh is like saying you're against Heaven (what about the name Hell?) and naming your child the way you feel. :) If parents like the sound, I think they should go with Nevaya/Nivaya/Niveia or something like that.*reyanna*

Blech. Just way to much of a fad. There are tasteful names out there with the same meaning ... Celina springs to mind.

I knew it looked familiar...but I wasnt sure where I saw/heard such a name. I now remember...it was on another board, and a mother to be wanted something heavenly sounding/meaning, but no one liked Heaven for a name. So she posted Nevaeh. It looks different and unique but guess again!
