There was a French crusader named Bohemond (with a 'o'). It looks like the name was very trendy during the crusades, like Jourdain and Alienor lol

Bohemund was popular in the Crusader states. No less than five princes of Antioch and a prince of Tripoli (son of Bohemund VI of Antioch) had the name. But, sorry, I have no meaning for it.Miranda

Well, "mund" is clear ("protection"), but I have no idea what BOHE could be. I'm thinking of BOD (messanger) or Slavonic BOG (God) > BOHDAN for BOGDAN, or maybe BALD ("bold"; there is the German surname BOHLE from BALDWIN, but what happened to the L?).helpless Andy ;—)

That reminds meYou reminded me of a line in Wikipedia's article on Bohemund I of Antioch (c. 1058-1111). Specifically:[Bohemund] was christened "Mark" but came to be known as Bohemund, after a legendary giant of that name.Miranda

Thats where I gleaned that information, although I think I might have got it from another source the line looks about right.
