Namesakes and origin of my name!
Hi all!First of all I was named after the late actress Ava Gardner and was wondering why she isn't listed as a namesake under the name, as it is a fairly uncommon one and doesn't have many namesakes. I was also wondering if any the the entymologists here could help me out on whether or not my name is related to the name "Avis" meaning bird as I have heard it has, but mostly I think of my name as another form of Chava or Eve.Hope you can help!Ava :)

The etymologists here may be able to help you, but the entomologists could only tell you if your name is related to aphid. ;)

BTW Eve can be a name given to mean 'woman' or 'temptress' as in biblical Eve, and 'twillight' or 'night' as in the English word eve.
