I just wanted to say that there are hardly any site which have my name spelt like this on them :( It's kind of sad that the other way is taken note of, and it really annoys me when people write my name wrong :( Just wanted to get that out of my system and say that my name should be listed on translators.

There's another derivation for Jemma

Some could use it as a feminine form of James, because Jem and Jemmie (or Jemmy) was a medieval nickname for James.

Incidentally, I theorise that Jim and Jemmy gave rise to Jim and Jimmy. But that's just me.
