I haven't heard of the name Minnaloushe, but if it's a female name it looks like a combination of Minna and Louise. In Germany combinations like that are very common (concerning Minna I just know of Minnalies and Minnalene but anyway...).
But Minna doesn't mean protection! Minna can come from Mina which is short for namnes ending with -mina (most often: Wilhelmina, which means "will" and "helmet, protection") or from names beginning with Minne- like e.g. Minnegard, which means "love" and "shelter, protection".In the first case, Minna is just a seperate diminutive ending like names like Line, Rina etc. In the second case Minna would come from the first part of the names: Minne- which comes from the Old German word "minnja" which means "love, loving memories"Regards, Satu
