DA VINCI
Could anyone give me the meaning of the name "Da Vinci"? The best I could come up with is "Wine" but I'm pretty sure there is more to it. If you find the answer, e-mail me at DTHdeus@aol.com
thanks

Everyone is right; da Vinci just means he was from Vinci. It's also incorrect to refer to Leonardo AS da Vinci, since it's not even his name.

Da Vinci: Of or From Vinci, a village near Florence. Also Vinci can be from the name Vincente, a form of Vincent meaning "To Conquer"

Nothing to do with wine, but the answer's pretty straightforward:da Vinci means simply "from Vinci", the town near Florence where Leonardo was born.
