meanings of some Ethiopian names
Anyone have any info on these names? I'm pretty sure they are Ethiopian.Gebreyesus

hi Kate,I don't know about the last two, but Gebreyesus seems like it has the words Hebrew and Jesus in it.. which doesn't seem that far-fetched when you know where Ethiopia is on the map.

I'm thinking Biruk may be a variant of the Hebrew Baruch meaning blessed. I haven't found anything to the contrary, but I also can't say for certain that it is.
