Tauba, Doba, etc
My questions is about the names Tauba, Dauba, Doba and Toba. They were all given to Polish Jewish women born during the 19th century or before.- are these names the different forms of one name, or are they different?
- are they a Germanic form of Tova, a Yiddish pet form of Deborah (like Dobrush) or something else?Thank you!
