Where does this name come from?

The name is Desari. I got it from one of Christine Feehan's Dark Series novels (Dark Challenge). How would you pronounce this; des-AR-ee or deh-SAR-ee or some other way (the character is supposed to be from the Carpathian Mts. so maybe it would be pron. differently)? I think its a pretty name but I was just curious as to where it came from and what it means. Thanks for the help in advance!
