Malcy Berthier was a 19th century French aristocrat. She shared her name with a cousin and her grandmother. Does anyone have any idea where this name came from and what it means? TIA.

Are you referring to Malcy-Louise-Caroline-Frédérique Berthier de Wagram, 1832-1884?

So if she was named after a grandmother than implies to me that Malcy was a pet form of "Maria Elisabeth".
