Spanish translations??
I'm getting married in Mexico in February and have 45 people traveling with my fiance and I. We would like to make luggage tags for each guest and would like to write the Spanish translation of their names on one side of the tag. Does anyone know of a website where I can have names translated properly from english to spanish? Thank you!

What a fun idea!Jaime, for those names which don't have Spanish equivalents, it would be interesting to see what possible new names you might be able to create by doing a translation of the names' English meanings directly into Spanish words. Why don't you give a list of the names to the Board here (as Mar suggested), and see what folks here might come up with for you?Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!-- Nanaea

NBames don't really get translated granted if your name was john it would probably get pronounced as yon or juan but names stay the same. addresses and names do not get changed in languages, you can have variation but if you put my namew for instance which is Rachel Bennett, you could get in a lot of trouble with your luggage saying Rachelle(Rochella) Benait.

I think you're blowing this out of proportion. Having a luggage tag with your legal name on one side and the Spanish equivalent of your first name on the other would not cause "trouble." Frankly, having a completely different name on your luggage tag wouldn't cause problems either because your luggage is officially tagged by the airlines with bar codes that match your ticket. No one looks at luggage tags unless a bag loses its airline encoded paper tags.

This one?On the main page do a search for a name. On the right side there are links, choose "related names" and look for the Spanish equivalents. However, not every name will have a Spanish equivalent. You didn't mention if you were hoping to do the "translation" for surnames, which I think would be difficult and in many cases impossible.

ha! Oops! Guess I should have looked around the site a little more. Thank you for filling me in! :)
I only need first names and i figured some would not translate--that's okay! Some are better than none! Thanks again!

You can also ask for the translation here, if you can't find it on the site.
