Rhianna, Riona, or SorchaThis round, we're naming your first child - a child of the forest! For female characters: You have been chosen to embody the forest in a fertility ceremony. You will be ritually cleansed and covered in green paint, and then you will lie in the dark under a tree somewhere. You will be "visited" in the night by a disguised member of your community who has been on a hunt and is wearing horns. Neither of you will know who the other is.Then... you have a dream about the moon. What phase is the moon in? What phase of the moon were you born under? Please use this website to find out, and answer for next round's namebanks. https://www.moongiant.com/birthday-moon/You also see a tree in your dream vividly, and the dream tells you that you will bear the Child of the Forest, and you must name the child with the name of the tree, and it will be protected by the tree's spirit and embued with its sacred qualities. When you wake up, you see you have fallen asleep under the tree in your dream. What tree was it? Will it be a pretty-named one like Willow or an ugly-named one like Gorse? It's up to fate. Please pick or generate a number 1-21 - sorry, didnt have this planned or would have done it in the signups. I will reply with the corresponding tree, and three letters. You must use the tree's name in the combination, but it can be in any position; the other names in the combo must begin with the letters. You may also pick the child's gender. For males, WHAT HAPPENS IS, you are one of the stag people and you go on a big hunt and you're probably on some kind of psychedelic berry. You fall asleep under a tree and have the same kind of dream, and you have a Knowing that there is going to be a baby of yours running around. You pick out a name you wish you could name it. And then later, someone names their festival forest baby the exact combination you wished for! What a thrill
So in sum, please respond with:
-Your character name
-Your moon phase
-A number 1-21

Perhaps appropriate to your name, #13 is Willow. "Beauty and spiritual presence." "In the Druid stories, the universe and all mankind was hatched from two scarlet eggs hidden within the willow tree. One egg formed the sun and the other the Earth." It helps to transmute difficult unconscious materials.https://ireland-calling.com/celtic-mythology-willow-tree/Your letters are Y, Q, and C.

Altaluna Artemis, and I think I'm going to change my name to Artemis Altalune but I am called Altalune. My random # is 9 and my letters are T, G, and P.#9 is Mistletoe, the sun plant. Not really a tree but rather a parasite."Mistletoe was a most sacred plant to the druids and was thought to ward off evil, restore health and bestow fertility.Mistletoe does not grow on the ground, but instead on the branches of trees with no connection to the earth. The Celtic Druids believed that mistletoe was the essence of the sun god Taranus and any tree hosting mistletoe on its branches was marked sacred. The Druids worshipped the sun and held trees in high regard. They believed that the mistletoe would take on the essence of the tree it inhabited, scientifically accurate as the plant was feeding off the tree.Should they find mistletoe growing on the holiest of trees, the oak, this was prized above all else. Lengthy ceremonies were held for harvesting the shrub whose powers included warding off evil and protection from poison.Mistletoe was harvested on the sixth day after the new moon following autumn, when the leaves had fallen from the trees making it easier to find and access."
I was born on a waxing gibbous moon. I'll reply with my combo later

Rowan, tree of transformation. Also unfortunately the most cliche Pagan baby name nowadays. You thought you were original but you're gonna have to be on the defensive about how it actually came to you in a dream etc."The Rowan tree belongs to the rose family. It is sometimes known as the mountain ash, though it is not related to the ash, and sometimes ‘The Lady of the Mountain’ due to its ability to thrive in inhospitable mountainous environments. The Rowan was one of the most sacred trees to the Celtic Druids and to the Scots who regarded it as so sacred it was forbidden to use any part of it except in very special religious ceremonies. The Druids used rowan branches on funeral pyres as a symbol of death and rebirth and rowan trees planted in cemeteries are said to protect the dead from evil spirits. It was also one of the nine sacred trees to be burned in the Beltane fires to symbolise new beginnings.Rowans were often planted near gates and doorways to protect against evil spirits and misfortune. The twigs of the Rowan were placed in barns and above doorways for this same purpose, similar to the Cross of St Brigid, who is associated with the Rowan according to Celtic folklore."

Hawthorn, the fairy tree!F, H, Z"The Hawthorn is Known in Ireland as the fairy tree. It is often referred to as the gentle bush, lone bush or thorn, as it is disrespectful to mention the fairies by name.As it is considered a fairy tree, it is believed to be extremely bad luck to cut one down, remove branches, or even hang things upon it (except at Beltane when this was customary) in case you disturb the little folk. This belief has survived into modern times.Few people will speak of the fairy tree out of a mixture of fear and respect and even fewer would ever remove or damage a hawthorn standing alone."
