Deborah and Agostino
It's 1877, the end of a rather dramatic five years for the Lacey family. It all started with Deborah finally making her decision: she wants to be with Agostino, not Simon. She still loves Simon, but it's no longer romantic. He doesn't deserve to be stuck with a woman who loves him as her friend and another man as her husband, so she tells him of her plans. Simon's heartbroken. He knew his wife hadn't loved him, which had hurt, but to know she had another man was what really stung. Still, they agree to divorce, with plans to wait until Kitty and Phoebe are out of the house. When that time comes and the divorce is finalized, Henry will split his time between Simon and Deborah. This comes sooner than expected when the Ravenswood brothers come into town. Infamous grave robbers, the Ravenswoods are widely despised in Middlesbrough. Kitty and Phoebe have no intentions of ever being around them - until they meet Jack and Jesse Ravenswood at a pub one night. Kitty's only 18, having just left home, and Phoebe is still 15. The girls are immediately struck by the young men: Kitty's drawn to the dark-eyed, raven-haired Jack, and Phoebe to his blond, muscular brother. Jack notices her and strikes up a conversation, and his smooth, charismatic voice only charms Kitty more. He matches her wit with an even sharper tongue. Jesse stays with Phoebe - quiet, listening to her as she chatters incessantly. He cares - he wants to hear what she has to say. Phoebe doesn't get that often. The girls don't learn they're Ravenswoods until the end of the night, and by then, it's too late - the couples have fallen hard. Within the next month, Kitty and Jack elope, much to the surprise and chagrin of Simon and Deborah. Even with life on the run, they're happy, and have welcomed three boys: Ned, Billy, and Frank. Jesse and Phoebe have been seeing each other in secret for two years now, and have quietly been betrothed. Phoebe leaves home when she's 16, which doesn't shock her parents much. She's always been a restless soul. Simon and Deborah begin their divorce, and finalize it this year. Deborah and Agostino marry soon after. Poor Henry is caught in the crossfire of it all - his sisters have left in a flash, and now his family are torn apart too. He likes Agostino fine, but seeing his parents apart is killing him. Everything's all out of order, and he's not sure if it will ever feel normal again.
