1. Generate a number between 1 and 6 for all couples, If the number’s 6 the marriage ends either threw divorce, death, or one of the spouses dramatically run off with their secret lover (who will be added to the family), if it’s an engagement and you get 6, the engagement will be called out for reasons you choose. If you get 2 for either an engagement or a marriage one of the people in the couple will begin an affair with a Mistress/Paramount.
2. Generate a number between 1 and 20 for all family members. If they are under 10, over 16 means death, if they are from 10-55, over 18 means death, if they are 56 or over, 13 or over means death.
3. Generate a number between 1 and 10 for all singles aged 14 or older. If they are under 23, 6 or above is an engagement and 8 or above is marriage. In a shocking turn of events, Peggy has run off with the infamous bodysnatcher Jesse Crowley and divorced Harry the year of our last visit to the Edwards family! The entire family has no words for this act! One year later, Owen dies from unknown causes. The very next year Edmund contracts scarlet fever and has a slow, agonizing death to it. Sally, already grief-ridden from her brother's death, is absolutely heartbroken. Frances and Rebecca are also in complete shock. Llinos attends the funeral, and Frances recognizes her rosy scent, but doesn't have the heart to say anything. Then, to top it all off, Amy comes down with tuberculosis and passes from it, just like Frances did eleven years ago. The next year, Sally marries the jewel thief Robert Crowhurst. They have Jean soon after, then twin girls Kate & Marie. Frances and Rebecca dislike Robert but love their half-siblings, though Jean is the favorite. Harry didn't exactly approve of the union, but he likes Robert as a man and is trying to persuade him to change his ways.

Still, they agree to divorce, with plans to wait until Kitty and Phoebe are out of the house. When that time comes and the divorce is finalized, Henry will split his time between Simon and Deborah. This comes sooner than expected when the Ravenswood brothers come into town. Infamous grave robbers, the Ravenswoods are widely despised in Middlesbrough. Kitty and Phoebe have no intentions of ever being around them - until they meet Jack and Jesse Ravenswood at a pub one night. Kitty's only 18, having just left home, and Phoebe is still 15. The girls are immediately struck by the young men: Kitty's drawn to the dark-eyed, raven-haired Jack, and Phoebe to his blond, muscular brother. Jack notices her and strikes up a conversation, and his smooth, charismatic voice only charms Kitty more. He matches her wit with an even sharper tongue.
