Victorian Congrats
This Idea is from Ari.’s Royal congrats. But this game will instead follow the story of a British (or any English speaking country) family in the Victorian age (1837-1901). Basically the rules will help you build a family, and I’d honestly love to see some of your stories.Dice: https://www.random.org/Family surname [Marchford, Mountfitchet, Mornmouth, De Molyneaux, Lacey, De Bretton, Elliston, Carrollton, Edwards, Pierrepont, Cann, Johnson, Swynford, Montagu]
Note: double-barrelled surnames were rather common in this time.Generate a number between 1 and 2. 1=No title, 2= Lord/Lady. This will dictate the title of the mother and father, ages are up to you
Note: once the parents die the title is given to the eldest male, if there is no sons it will go to the eldest daughter.Generate a number between 1 and 6 for the number of children the parents will have.
Then generate a number between 1 and 10 for each child, Odd number=boy, even number=girl
Harry Luke Justus Absalom Martin Adam Timothy Mark Owen Jeremy Aaron Jeremy Nathaniel Cuthbert Lawrence Jacob Alexander Roger Simon David Andrew Ralph Anthony Joshua Antonius Michael Philip Jonathan Stephen Julius

1837DH - Lord Simon Anthony Elliston (28)
DW - Lady Harriet Rachel [Lacey] Elliston (21)DS - Nathaniel Lawrence (1)Young Simon and Hattie Elliston, the new Lord and Lady of Devon, had a very proper courtship. Long-winded, and well-chaperoned, with no way to sneak off to get to know one another on a more personal level. Still, they found that they liked each other well enough, and just over a year after they married they welcomed little Nate, who brought the couple (finally) close together in a way that they hadn't thought they would have in a marriage. And though they both come from smaller families they are looking forward to growing their own, knowing they have plenty of money to support any further bundles of joy.

DW:[22]Lady Joan Lydia EdwardsDD1:[4]Lucy Harriet Montagu
DS1:[3]Lawrence Mark Montagu
DS2:[2]Mark Owen Montagu
DS3:[nb]Adam Simon MontaguFrom their titles, you'd think that the Montagu family would be admired...or, at the very least, expected. But no. The family hadn't been very likable to the other high-class communities because of the way they acted. They believed that love and kindness were the keys to success, and they didn't expect them to marry. Their 4th child, Adam, was born about a week ago. The Montagus have more children them any of the other high-class families, making them stand out even more. They face prejudice for their beliefs, but will remain together!

The Cann Family! The Cann Family, 1880H [52]: Jeremy Cann, "Jem"
W [48]: Caroline Elena (Montagu) Cann, "Lady Caroline [Cann]" / "Mrs. Cann" ("Caro" / "Caro-Jem" / "The Gem of London")S1 [24]: Nathaniel Andrew Cann, "Nate"

D2 [16]: Lydia Judith CannMr. Cann of Number 32 Berkeley Square was not always a mister of distinction. He came of age far from stately Mayfair and Belgravia, and the Palladian country houses of the ton. While London's elite dined on French cuisine that may or may not have been cooked by actual Frenchmen, young Jem's belly often ached in hunger as he slept on the cold workhouse floor in Jacob's Island. He was sure no gentleman in a gentleman's suit would even acknowledge him, let alone believe him if he'd said that there was a river of feces flowing through their city - the Mayor of London himself had denied this*. But the slime and refuse were real, and enough to drown a man, particularly one who'd been beaten since boyhood by the fists and cold shoulders of society. There was one ace in young Jem's pocket, though: he had a head for figures. So as he grew into a tall, gangly thing, he did what anyone else born in the muck would do to escape: he climbed. And he cut some throats as he did - metaphorically speaking, anyway - as he learned to round out his vowels and actually pronounce his Hs.And so young Jem metamorphosed into Mr. Jeremy Cann of Cann, Swynford & Pierrepont Holdings, richer than Croesus but not ostentatious, skeptical of the haute ton and the nouveau riche alike. The advice was the same from all corners, however: marry up. Aristocrats had invested poorly and their lands weren't as profitable as in centuries past, so now was the time to take one unlucky lord's daughter to wife and have one's children grow up in privilege and prestige.Lady Caroline Montagu, bluestocking daughter of the previous Earl of Lacey and sister of the current, had driven enough suitors away by the time she was 23 that she had earned her title of the family's Black Sheep.

The Honorable Margaret "Peggy" Marchford, Lady Edwards [38]The Honorable Sarah "Sally" Edwards [14]
The Honorable Owen Edwards [8]
The Honorable Frances & Amy Edwards [2]Harry and Peggy were married when Peggy was 23, their marriage arranged by their parents. The two learned to tolerate each other. Two years later they were blessed with Sarah (after Peggy's beloved mother (may she rest in peace)), known as Sally. Through this the couple truly began to love each other. After six years of infertility, and much sadness and despair, Peggy finally gave birth to their son Owen when she was 30. Another six years later, the twins followed. Sally is almost as much of a mother to the twins as Peggy is.

S3 [0] Roger Nathaniel EdwardsThe columns were shocked when the 21 year-old Lady Caroline Montagu, the Duke of Marbolough only daughter, eloped with the wealthy but titleless Absalom Edwards, who made his money in the railway business. While Caroline was the Duke's favourite child, which led him to allow her to keep her title - a small mercy - none of her children would be eligible to inherit the Duchy.17 years later, Absalom and Lady Caroline live rather happily in Belgravia with their six children. Their eldest, Phoebe, is 16, while their youngest, Roger, was born a few months ago.

DW: Deborah Joanna [Cann] Lacey [30]DD: Kitty Eliza Lacey [5]
DS: Owen Antonius Lacey [4]
DD: Phoebe Lydia Lacey [2]Simon and Deborah with Kitty, Owen, and PhoebeSimon and Deborah Lacey live in Middlesbrough, England, in 1862. They've been married for five years, and have three children: Kitty, Owen, and their newest, little Phoebe. Simon works in a steel factory, and Deborah does laundry for wealthier families. Simon works long hours at the factories. As a skilled metalworker, he gets paid better than most factory workers, but the Laceys are still at the bottom of the middle class. Nevertheless, they are as happy as one in their situation can be. Simon is a shy, quiet man who doesn't speak much outside of his home. Deborah, on the other hand, is a chatterbox who's never met a stranger. Kitty takes after her mother, curious and talkative. Owen is a sickly child, and can't go out and play much. He has a big imagination, though, often creating intricate stories with his sisters and his toys. Phoebe is a rambunctious child who likes to run around and keeps her mother very busy.
