This is a real puzzle for me. I love
Emilia, but
Amelia gets on my nerves. I pronounce them identically, or at least so close as to make very little difference. So I suppose it's the different associations that I have with them that tip the scales.
Emilia transports me back to ancient Rome. I love names like that and ancient
Roman names are a pet love of mine.
Emilia sounds like an intelligent, regal young woman.
Amelia I picture as a spoiled brat, rich girl.
Millie /
Milly is a very cute nn, for either one.
My favorite nn is
Mimi, but I'm in a very small minority on that.
I love all of your combinations, with
Emilia Charlotte and
Emilia Josephine being my favorites. Other ideas (sorry for any repeats):
Emilia CelesteEmilia Benedicta (that ancient
Roman thing sneaking in)
Emilia LetitiaEmilia Patricia (= an industrious noblewoman)
Emilia CatherineEmilia Gisele /
GiselleEmilia Rosalind (two Shakespearean characters for the price of one?)

Happy hunting!
