I kind of have a soft spot for it, but for practicality's sake I like
Frank more. I just think has a little more of something to it. And my reasons are
not because
Francis is too feminine, either;
Frank just has more appeal to me. I think anything classic could go with
Francis as a middle name;
Richard,
William,
Jeremiah,
Lawrence, and
Howard are some of my personal favorites that I think fit (but they're my favorites--I think they fit wit anything. :-) ).
And I agree, by the way:
Francis is masculine,
Frances is feminine. I wouldn't use
Francis for a girl even though BTN lists the spelling as unisex.
