Re: What do you guys think of the name Lola?

Being of Filipino descent, I wouldn't use it because it means "grandmother" in Tagalog. It's a term that you would use not only for your actual grandmother but also in a respectful way for female relatives and friends who are of a similar age to what a grandmother would be, like you would also call your grandmother's friends or your great aunt "Lola" as well. For example, if my grandmother was named Elizabeth, I would call her "Lola Elizabeth" or "Lola" with her preferred nickname after that.
I guess if I didn't need to consider the above, then I would only use "Lola" as a nickname only.
