I don't know why Annette isn't a more popular name. It sounds and looks beautiful.
If I were ever to have a daughter, I would name her this.
This is my name and I love it! Very feminine, and looks and sounds beautiful.
I think Annette is vintage, elegant, and mature! Good name for a girl and I like the potential nicknames Ann and Nettie.
Pretty and vintage. I adore the nickname Nettie!
As much as I appreciate the English language, it almost ruins this classy and adorable name. I love how the French say it.
I like it! Cute sounding, but it will definitely age well.
This name is so sweet sounding, but I can imagine it on a grown woman too! I like it!
It's really pretty. I like it much more than Anne.
This my grandmother's name, and I ADORE my grandmama so much. She's so kind, strong, and she was the one who compelled me to learn French. As for her name, I personally find it a very pretty and timeless name. It's feminine but it's not obnoxiously girly or frilly. It sounds classy on adults and sweet on kids. It's one of those names that sounds good at any age, as I can easily imagine both girls, teenagers, and adults having this name. It also has great nickname potential like "Annie" or "Anne" or "Nettie". If you're looking for a name similar to "Anna" or other similar and popular names such as "Annabelle" or "Ariana" but not quite as common, I say go for "Annette"!
Lovely.
Maybe a little frilly, but still pretty. I prefer this over Ann and Anne.
It’s okay, but nothing too special. It’s nice and all.
I really like the name Annette now, but I have a mildly amusing story about it. You know that song from Grease called "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee"? One of the lines from the song is, "Keep your filthy paws off my silky drawers / Would you pull that crap with Annette?," referring to Annette Funicello, who was a popular actress during the time period when Grease takes place (around 1960). But I first heard that song when I was 10, in 1984, and I wasn't exactly up on my mid-century teen cinema stars. So for many years, I thought the line was, "Would you pull that crap with a net?" I pictured a teenage boy trying to take off a girl's underwear with a fishing net until I was about 17 years old, and I didn't know how on earth that would work. Anyway, Annette is a solid name and I can imagine it coming back in vogue soon. It has a cool-girl vibe, I think. Kind of rockabilly, like Kitty and Millie. I'd be impressed if I met a little Annette.
Annette is my second name and I love it better than my first which is Lorraine, interesting to see both are from French origin.
Annette is a nice, pretty vintage name that deserves a comeback! :)
Good choice for a fisherman ("a net")
Kind of sad that this isn't on the top 1000 anymore... It's not the prettiest name, but it sounds very classic and elegant, at least in my opinion. And the spelling is beautiful :)
I like this name its one of my middle names. It is very pretty. It is a classic name that is the French version of the name Anne. It means graceful and gracious.
Annette is kind of cool, actually. It's rare, and classic sounding. =)
This name is fine, but I've never really cared for it very much. And it looks like "Anatidae" to me (Anatidae being the family that ducks and other duck-like birds belong to).
