More like barista. Definitely prefer Baptiste.
Baptista Minola is a character in Shakespeare's play, The Taming of the Shrew. He's Katherine (the shrew) and Bianca's father.
The "ista" ending makes me think that this would make a good feminine name - maybe not as the first name, but perhaps in the middle slot. It's certainly unusual. I'd pronounce it "bap-TEEST-ah".
