Meaning & History

This name can be used to combine 千 (sen, chi) meaning "thousand" with 早 (sat', sou, sa-, haya, haya.i, haya.maru, haya.meru) meaning "early" (mainly feminine) or 隼 (shun, jun, hayabusa, haya) which refers to a falcon (especially the peregrine falcon) (mainly masculine).

It has been seeing rather uncommon usage among both genders in recent decades.
