Coby

Pathethic...

I named my son Coby by mistake when I misheard the pronunciation. It should have been Colby as my mother suggested but, I registered him as Coby and decided I liked it anyway. This was in the U.K. in 1993. I cannot find out whether this was the first time the name ‘Coby’ was registered as a forename in Britain. It has gained popularity ever since, and we know at least 4 other kids called Coby in recent years.

I like it! A nickname could be Cool Coby or Cobe.

Ugh, no. So jock and unintellectual-looking.

Better as a nickname rather than a name.

Coby is a nice name, I like it but Jake used for Jacob is more powerful. It's my name and I love it!

For some reason I like the name Coby more than Jacob. If you are concerned with the adult world, call him Jacob when he is older.

This name sounds more like the name of a 13-year-old boy than that of a grown man. Too immature, and also a bit annoying. Boys from hell come to mind. And this name for females? Atrocious. Imagine meeting a cute little girl and asking her what her name is, and she says it's Coby. You would find that weird, wouldn't you? This name only sounds okay on tomboyish girls, if ''okay'' is defined as ''well, it's a butt-ugly, boyish name, but the girl herself is boyish and, well, not the most attractive girl out there''. The name would already sound awful on a 14-year-old girl, even if she looked masculine.

I also like the spelling Koby.
