I'm naming a character this! Also, It's kinda weird that the only use of names on this site for some people is to just dunk on the notion of naming a child something important other than Mary or Brendan or something like that.
I mean I get being unimpressive & boring, but there's a long history to people naming their children for important religious & philosophical concepts. And I mean, it's better than naming your kid 'end of days' surname. Right?
With all due respect, why would you name your child this? It's asking for merciless teasing their entire life.
It just seems like such an odd name for a human being. It's like naming your daughter Festivus or Candlemas. I would never wanna be named after an actual word that had nothing to do with my personality.
I actually really like this name.
My name is Epiphany. I'm 29 years old and I love my name. But it is bittersweet at times. People usually can not pronounce it. Iffany is not my name. I also hear "I just had an Epiphany" A LOT.
Lovely name, though I understand why some find it absurd. It comes with the adorable nicknames of Pip/Pippie/Pippa. All in all, not bad. I do have some trouble seeing it on an older person, however.
Wow! I truly cannot believe all the hate this beautiful name is getting. It is so pretty and has such an amazing ring to it. It is very special and not common, and I cannot possibly think of a reason not to love or use this name.
All I can say is "Wow". Thank god this absolute embarrassment of a name isn't on the charts."
The first time I heard it was the name of audience member on a talk show and it led to the host making a few sex jokes. It was introduced and ruined in one fell swoop. Nicknames are Phany/Fanny comes with it's own batch of problems and Eppie which I guess I kinda like.
I really can't think of a reason to discourage someone from naming their daughter this except for the fact that it's considered "unusual".
Epiphany is just stupid and pathetic as a given name. It will lead to a lot of bad jokes. It also reminds me of the hideous name Tiffany. There is a similar-sounding Spanish name, Epifania, which means the same thing as Epiphany. Why not go for that instead?
If you are choosing to name your child Epiphany, I would strongly encourage that. This name sounds really smart and well grounded. Although it may sound "funny" to some people (and I can't imagine why) this is an incredible name. It has a nice ring to it. Very nice.
It is kind of like naming your daughter "Eureka!", yet I rather like it -- better than Tiffany or Stephanie, anyway.
The name's a bit ''out there'', and it sounds a bit funny with the 'p's and the 'f' sound.
Naming your child this is like naming her Easter.
