Holger Louis Nielsen (1866–1955) was a Danish fencer, sport shooter, and athlete. He competed at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. He is probably best known for drawing up the first modern set of rules for the game of handball.

As an addendum to my last comment.. I guess I'm the only one who does like the name! I think it's very masculine, but also timeless (I can imagine someone of every age with it). Holly is also possible as a nickname. There is a character named Holger in the novel I'm working on too.
One of the members of German band Letzte Instanz is called Holger Lieberenz.
Maybe I'm the only person who thinks this, but this name seems just weird.
