Meaning & History

From Japanese 海 (kai) meaning "sea, ocean" combined with 十 (tou) meaning "ten". Other kanji combinations are possible.

As a word, Kaitou (怪盗) means "phantom thief" or "gentlemen thief", which is a Japanese non-fiction genre, though the kanji does not get used as a given name.
