Alfendi and Katrielle Layton are the children of Professor Hershel Layton (of the Nintendo DS/3DS series Professor Layton fame), each starring in their own spin-off title (Layton Brothers: Mystery Room and Layton's Mystery Journey respectively). Alfendi is also one of the few disabled characters in the Layton series, as he has what's known as Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Leighton is much better then Layton, so stick with Leighton instead.

He was the leader of the New Democratic Party from 2003 to 2011, and previously sat on Toronto City Council, serving at times during that period as acting mayor and deputy mayor of Toronto. He was the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Toronto—Danforth from 2004 until his death.

I don't usually like names derived from people's surnames, but this one is ok, but I wouldn't use it because it is my mother's maiden name, and it would be weird. :)

To the person above: it must be a fabulous name, then. Considering that the word 'elite' means 'good'. Personally, I find the variant Leighton much more appealing.
It sounds kind of stuck up and elitist, but I suppose the common usage will eventually make this name sound like a name for dumb brats, jocks, and frat boys. Time will tell.
