Catalan diminutive of Manel 1. This was used by Àngel Guimerà for a character in his Catalan-language play Terra baixa (1896). The Mexican writer Antonio Mediz Bolio later used this name in his poem "Manelich" (1919). A known bearer is Mexican lawyer Manelich Castilla Craviotto (1973-).
