Nice, solid name that is timeless and ages gracefully.
I don’t like it. It’s very boring and I personally haven’t met a Mark that wasn’t weird or a jerk.
The name is nothing good, anyone with the name is just boring and will have a basic 9 to 5 job.Ps also they are a nerd.
Maybe it's because I don't know a lot of guys named Mark, but it doesn't feel dated to me. In fact, I think it's a very strong, handsome, and cool-sounding name!
I do not understand this website. Any name that is boring or wildly overdone gets high praise. Any name that is sort of unique or interesting gets dragged through the mud. I know so many Marks, and the sound of it in general just isn't that interesting to me.
I used to think Mark was boring, but it grew on me. It’s now one of my favourites! Besides, it’s nowhere near as common as it used to be. I don’t know any Marks. Like others have said, it’s a handsome name, much like Martin.
Mark is a good name because it's cool, simple, and handsome :)
Handsome.
Really handsome name.
My crush's name. It's not a very interesting name, but it sounds strong.
A great name!
I personally don't like names that are also verbs. Like what is he marking?
This is the name of my boyfriend who's a sweet lovable guy. He has a great personality and we clicked so well the first time we talked. He's left a Mark on my heart. This name suits him so well. Sure the name is basic and simple but there's nothing wrong with that.
Every Mark I have ever met has had a strong personality. This name works for all ages from children to adulthood to old age and everything in between. Naming your son Mark in this day and age he'd be probably the only one and won't have to share his name with anybody else, by having half a dozen Mark's in his class.
Handsome, solid name. I like it.
Simple and classic but not at all common. I'm 21 and I only went to school with 1 Mark ever, and he was 2 years older than me. Safe to say that Mark is no longer "overused." I don't care for this spelling though, I like Marc much better.
It's alright, I prefer Marcus though, I also prefer Lucas more than Luke as well.
Classic, simple name that can suit any male person.
Mark is very handsome.
To me, this is the quintessential American white guy's name.
An awesome name!
This is one that appears rather dated and not as refined as it might have been decades ago. Like the name Matt, it tends to conjure an image of a certain period in the previous century when it was hip and full of spice.
Now? It appears rather bland and lacking a certain element of uniqueness.
Mark with the CK (MARCK) is also a cool name.
Automatically makes me think of a generation X guy or a baby boomer. I think it would be odd on a young boy in this day and age, like naming a girl Sharon or a boy Frank. Not impossible, just a bit odd.
I have a biological uncle, an "adopted uncle", and a friend named Mark. It's a simple name, and all the Marks I know are goofy, but nice and (fairly) easy to get along with. And they all have quite a personality, too.
Mark is a good name, one that is strong and to the point.
Mark is a cute name. I like it more with an K than a C.
I was given the name by my grandparents who said I WAS THE MARK of the family (The first born).
The name is simple, with only one syllable, but in my opinion it's a strong-sounding name. I find many people with this name have strong personalities as if compensating for their simple name.
This name is so boring, plus it means to leave a Mark on something. Not very good...
Short, simple, and strong sounding. It's a very good name, though it's not a favorite of mine.
Mark is the Ultimate Alpha Male name (have you ever met a Mark who isn't?)
I think this is really an awesome name. Mark was voted sexiest name for men in 2014. The name Mark for a boy would be a great one!
I see this as a strong, trustworthy, timeless name. I've met old men called Mark, little boys called Mark and everything in between. Very classic.
Mark is a strong, cute, handsome & manly name. I love how classy this name is! :)
Seems like a painful sort of name to me. Mark's all over your body...
I have a brother named Mark, so I like it. I think it's a very classic and strong sounding name.
"Mark" is an incredibly classic, timeless, professional and handsome name. I find it an honoring bow to the old-world, yet a welcoming wave to contemporary life. A breath of fresh air from all the "Jayden"s.
I only support the traditional spellings... in other words: Mark, Marc. Taking it a further "kre8tiv" step to "Marck" instantly murders the elegant pleasure."Markie/Marky" is an irresistible nickname, may I add.
Mark is such a strong, handsome name. In writing, it is neat and looks as good as it sounds. What a fine, underused classic name!
It's funny how many posters I'm seeing that scorn the name Mark for sounding like he's "marking things up" or "leaving marks all over the place." I've always thought that the sentiment "to leave your mark on something/someone" was very powerful, especially when conveyed in someone's name. I'd have to be one of those "refrigerator mothers" if I ever had a son and didn't feel like he'd left some kind of mark on me.
This is my dad's name and it is a very lovely name. All the Mark's I have met have been hard working, extremely friendly, and very funny. This name is highly usable as a boy's name.
I like Marcus but not Mark because it sounds like BIRTH MARK or a mole. Ew. It's really boring and nerdy to me.
Mark is such a stable and incredibly usable name. I think that it's very under appreciated.
This name sounds funny.
What a boring name, Mark, it could mean a "mark on the wall", there's a mark on the car, such a boring name.
I was happy when I discovered my cousin is named this so now if I ever marry and have a son, I can say that this name is my cousin and not be lying. I don't like this name, mainly because, every Mark (including my cousin) except one are all really good people. Unfortunately, the latter gives me bad thoughts of the name since I've known him soooooo very long now. Otherwise, it's a good name.
Mark is a wonderful name, for the fifty year old man next door. Really, no child wants to be named Mark.
I am not a fan of this name. It sounds like leaving a Mark for something.
I have a lot of friends named Mark and they are all kind of self centered and always around girls. If you are thinking about naming your son Mark, I like the name but not the personalities.
Mark is a very overly used name in America and I'm sure it's well know in other countries as well. I've known about three people with this name personally and all of them are hard working and honest people. The trait to be silly and creative seems to follow with this name too. Though I have to say that the Polish form of Mark is my favorite. It's more classy. Overall, Mark is a good name with great personality but only if you can overcome the fact that it is overused. Though it's probably not as overused as Christopher or Jacob. =D That's a plus.
Bit of a dorky name me thinks.
My favorite spelling is Marck. Gorgeous name!
I like this name much better spelled Mark then Marc. This is a pretty good guy's name.
It was one of my favorite names for men, until I married one. Now it kind of has a negative aftertaste.
This name also has a real sentimental connection to me. It's very timeless and it's a name I will always love. I have met heaps of people with this name and they have all been quite nice. :)
