I'm sorry, but this is one of the surnames used as a first name that I cannot stand. Lindsay, Garrett, Alden, Blake and Cole are all examples of surnames that, in my opinion, work as first names, but anything starting with a 'Mc' or 'Mac' just doesn't sound like a first name for anyone. The "Mc" part refers to someone being the son of, and then the name of the bearer's father, making it just very obviously meant to be a surname and unusable as a first name. Where I live, a large portion of the population has those 'mc' or 'mac' surnames, like McKenna, MacDonald, McKenzie, McDougal, MacKay, McGregor, ect. It sounds unnatural as a first name. Would you name your kid McDonald?
McKinley Morganfield (1913 – 1983), known professionally as Muddy Waters, was an American blues singer and musician who was an important figure in the post-World War II blues scene, and is often cited as the "father of modern Chicago blues". His style of playing has been described as "raining down Delta beatitude".
So trendy that I very much dislike it now. I saw a little girl saddled with the spelling "M'kenlee" today. I feel sorry for her for that reason alone.
This isn’t that bad, to be honest.
Not a fan of Mc first names.
This name is the most beautiful name I've ever seen. I would 100% name my daughter this any day. This name is very original and could be the name of a president one day.
I named my daughter McKenslie Brooke, it is a unique variant of McKinley, which is nice but too common. She is 4 now and I love her name, it suits her perfectly!
Wow. I'm a girl and now I'm sad you guys hate my name. I was actually named after the mountain in Alaska since both my parents are from there. My middle name is Denali.
Good thing that name's gonna get scrapped, especially since it was the illegitimate name of the mountain rightfully named Denali.
Hi, I think this is a horrible name.
Trashy.
Beautiful Irish name for a girl. I'd spell it McKynlee, it's really cute and it's not as common!
To be honest, I don’t really like this name very much. But my friend’s name is McKinlee and her mom was born and raised in Alaska. She was named after Mt. McKinley (now Mt. Denali) and her mom spelled it with two Es at the end because her name is Kimberlee and she wanted McKinlee’s name to be like hers. McKinlee doesn’t like her name very much though so she likes to be called Meg. I wouldn’t name my daughter this name though.
"Mc"= "son of"
Why would you name a girl this?
Who the heck names a girl like this.
