Just don’t draw him!
Sure it sounds interesting and has a good meaning, I do feel like it is overused.
Obviously a very common name, but I still like it! It rolls of the tongue well and I like the spelling variations too!
People are really showing their true colours with this one! Just because a group of bad guys make up for a small minority of a certain religion does not make the WHOLE RELIGION bad, does not make every single person associated with it bad, and does not make names associated with it bad. The vast majority of Muslims oppose terrorism, and fearing and hating them on the whole is just ignorant. It's like hating all German names, all German people and German culture because of what Hitler did.
As for the name itself, I personally like it. It's a handsome name with a good meaning. Some of you people really need to educate yourselves. A religion is more than the few bad people that follow it.
Muhammad is a truly ancient, handsome and noteworthy name!Interesting connections between Muhammad and Maria:
•Both Maria and Muhammad are the must popular names globally.
•They are both M names.
•They are both of the Abrahamic religions.Given the similarities between Muhammad and Maria, one could say that Muhammad is the male Muslim equivalent of the equally beautiful and timeless Maria (which - unsurprisingly - is another popular name in the Muslim and Arabic world along with its variants.)Incredible! I like it! But I'm not religious so I would never use it. I much prefer nature names and secular names. Some of the comments below are unkind and although I'm not religious Jesus has these words of wisdom you could learn from: “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another".
54%? Jeez, I didn’t think so many people would hate this name. In my opinion the name Muhammad sounds cool, honestly.
I think Muhammad is a very strong and beautiful name. I don't think there's anything wrong with giving this name to your child. It's gorgeous.
Very nice name and with the correct spelling.
This is one of the worst names I've ever heard of! It's incredibly UGLY. Just hideous! I HATE it!
Really cool name.
[Google trans: This name has Arabic roots but it is a very beautiful name. If you are a Muslim, you know that ISIL has nothing to do with our prophets. Incidentally, ISIS opposes Islam and thinks that they are real Muslims. We should not insult a religion because of a terrorist group. Is it right for someone to say that Moses is not a beautiful name at all because he has become God because of his death? I do not intend to insult and my main point is why you should insult the religion of Islam. I am Iranian and not from Saudi Arabia. ISIS does not exist in Iran and is not from Iran. Also, ISIL is a group that kills. Have you ever seen in Islam that it says to kill innocent people? These people are profiteers and abusers, but not everyone is an ISIS member. I hope you change your mind about the very beautiful and complete name of Muhammad. -ed]
Why are y'all making such a big deal of it? Those prejudices against this name are really sad and immature. Grow up! A name says absolutely nothing about a namebearer. Live your lives and chill. You don't have to be afraid of anything. You can put your damn hatred elsewhere. Ciao adios I'm done...

Everyone is saying this name is so overused but I have never met a Muhammad.
Am I the only one who actually kinda likes this name? I think it’s cool honestly.
Too many M's. I really don't like this name. Way dated and overdone and almost every family's first-born in Arabic countries is named this. Not an Islamophobe (seeing as I come from a Muslim family), I just don't like it, and that's okay.
I have nothing against Islam or the prophet, but it seems like every first son in an Islamic family bears this name. It's a bit overdone and the child may face discrimination in non-Muslim countries. Why are images of Muhammad forbidden while his name is given to pretty much any kid who comes along?
Love the name. Sad to see all the hate regarding it, just some folks who only listen to media. Great name.
Ugly name.
Although I'm a Muslim (By the way,I'm definitely against the ISIS and Jihad [جهاد‎]), I won't choose Muhammad as the name of my own child, as there are so many Muhammads around the whole Islamic World.
This name has a nice meaning, but I wouldn't use it due to the association with terrorism.
It's not surprising how much this name was once the most popular given.
The name signifies and means a lot to Muslims, it's analyzed as a code that formed a man in 4 arabic alphabets. First ‎م‎ signifies the head, second ‎ح‎ the hands, third ‎م‎ the stomach and inner stomach, that's why it's spelt with double M and fourth ‎‏ ‏دthe legs. It's a privilege to name and be named by the name Muhammad.‎.
I disagree with all those comments who say Muhammad is horrible. If you think this name is overused, then what about John? Or Mary? Or other common Biblical names used in the Anglophone world? There's nothing wrong with this name at all. If Muslim parents in Europe want to name their children Muhammad, they can.By the way, the original Arabic pronunciation of the name is really cool.
While I have nothing against this name itself, it could be risky to name your child this in some countries because of the toxic white supremacy that seems to have been growing lately.
Horrible name. Almost all Muslim families name one of their sons this name. Pretty pathetic how you can use the name of a prophet so worthlessly. What's so holy about the name if everyone is naming their son this? Keep the name sacred.
This is great for any religion. I know Muslim males and also other religions. It's better then Mohammed.
Can't believe this is the most popular male name worldwide. I've never met anybody with this hideous name.
I knew a Muhammad growing up (his family was from Algeria) and he was called "Hamouda" (sp?) as a nickname. Very cute kid, I babysat for him pretty frequently and he was incredibly well-behaved and thoughtful. It's a nice name.
I can't find myself to like this name anymore. It's just so nauseatingly overused, and even I find "overused" to be an understatement. People in the US always complain about how "boring" Michael, John and Elizabeth are, but none of them come close to Muhammad. That being said, I still think it could be a good middle name if paired right.
I was actually afraid to look on this page because I was expecting to see several racist and Islamophobic comments by retards. I guess the Moderators removed them for which I am glad.
I have a Pakistani friend with this name, I like it despite not being muslim. I prefer the Turkish Mehmet more, though.
@Jason Malcolm Same! I was expecting to see some rude comments here- thank goodness there's none. ^__^ I really like the name Muhammad and it has a great meaning. I agree, the Turkish name 'Mehmet' is rather lovely too. (:
As we Muslims believe Prophet Muhammad wasn't the founder of Islam - rather it is the religion God made for people through history of humanity - I believe it would be more accurate to say that the name Muhammad is the name of the Islam prophet born in the 7th century.
Gorgeous name. The double M sound in the middle really makes you speak it as if you love it. Absolutely beautiful.
This name is waaaay too popular. It gets kind of tricky to come up with distictions when you are a teacher at a Muslim school and 3 out of 10 of your students are named Muhamad or some varied spelling of it. I had to use nicknames so when I called for one of them they wouldn't all come to me! =}
The most popular name in the world, eh? Well, I believe it. No offence to any Muslims, but although I usually love Arabic names, "Muhammed" sounds rather bland. The Turkish form, "Mehmed" or "Mehmet" is nice, though, and plus your son won't have to endure the Prophet/Muhammed Ali jokes.
It would probably be rather controversial now, with all the predjudices against the name. That aside, I don't know if I would want to name my kid one of the most common names in the world without having an alternative or middle name lined up.
