I don’t like it. Never been a huge fan of ette names in the first place.
Pretty name, I think it's way better and interesting than Nicole. As for the Nicorette thing that helps people stop smoking I never heard of that until now so I wouldn't really worry about that.
I am a Nicolette and the two nicknames I prefer and use most are Nickle and Nico. Overall, I like my name, however, sometimes it does feel too formal or girly. I would recommend the name Nicolette especially if you like how it sounds.
Very interesting compared to Nicole.
This is a beautiful name, and a less boring version of Nicole! Totally recommend this name to parents. :)
Pretty.
Reminds me of Nicorette, something people are using to stop smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes are really bad for you, and vapes aren't good for you either since you're inhaling metal into your lungs when you vape. My American cousin named her daughter Nicorette a few weeks ago...I'm not even going to say anything. Nicolette would have been better, Nicorette any day, but Nicoleta is better.
I prefer Nicoleta, a name not so close to Nicorette, and because it's prettier in my opinion.
Pretty, but maybe a little too frilly.
Nicolette is a pretty name but a little too articulated and ‘pointy.’ That’s not necessarily a bad thing. I still think it sounds nice.
It’s one of my favorite names.
Nicolette is a lovely name. I'm surprised no one ever mentioned the nickname "Colette" besides the more popular "Nicole".
I am called Nicolette Elizabeth and I like my name. I do sometimes go by Nikki but I find many people associate 'Nikki' with Nicole, which I hate. (No offence, it's just not my real name) It is not really so popular. Many people for some reason associate my name with being posh, snobbish and arrogant. It is a very misunderstood name.
I knew someone named Nicolette, she pronounced it "nick-o-lay", which I'm not sure is correct, but it sounds pretty!
My daughter (who is currently 8) is named Nicolette! She loves the name. We do call her Nikki but tend to call her by her full name more often. Anyone who has ever heard her name has commented on how beautiful it is. Also the Nicorette thing has NEVER come up. I never even heard of it till I read the comments here. It's a great way to have a Nic, Nicky or Nikki without using Nicole (which I think it too common!)
When we get down to it, I find "Nicolette" to be pretty... as a nickname-- a diminutive, what it originally was meant to be. "Nicole" is a very professionally accepted name, while "Nicolette" (short of being a nickname) is incredibly childish, ornate, pompous in sound, and perhaps even a bit "kre8tiv," in a way.The resemblance in sound and writing to the nicotine lozenges/gum "Nicorette" is merely one single measly letter off... prepare your child for almost certain mocking.
Sometimes I love the name, other times I don't.
I had a friend named Nicolette, and although I felt it was a very unique and beautiful name, she disliked it. She disliked it for reasons though, people would always call her nicorette, which unfortunately rhymes and goes along with cigarette, they also called her that. She got teased so much she asked her parents to legally change it.
The name Nicolette strikes me as someone who loves to giggle, goof off, and talk. Also someone named Nicolette is very giving, smart, sensitive, cheerful, ready for anything and all-together, a well-rounded person.
I hear this name, and I immediately think nicorette. Ew.
I like the name but the nicknames for it are part of it: Nic, Letty, Nicole, Etta, and Etty.
Well my name is Nicolette and I am so proud of my name because it's beautiful and unique.
I told my friend that I liked this name and she immediatly said "WHAT?! You want to name your baby NICORETTE?" So ya. I see potential for some major teasing at school.
I'd any day prefer Nicole or Nicola to Nicolette.
I named one of my daughters Nicolette. Her Great Grandpa was named Nicholas and my family was fans of Knots Landing. We call her Nic. I don't like Nicky. There are a lot of Nicoles and Nickys in our town. So Nicolette is definitely a good choice. There is one other girl in town a grade below with the same name. My Nicolette's middle name is Renee. Also, her sister's name is Daphne. And I just found this out recently: Daphne Zuniga and Nicolette Sheridan played in the movie The Sure Thing. Now how awesome is that?
One of my best friends is named "Nicolette." She hates it and only answers to "Nikki".
