Meaning & History

Means "little town, small village" in Spanish, a diminutive of pueblo meaning "town, village; people." It is taken from the Mexican titles of the Virgin Mary, La Virgen del Pueblito and Nuestra Señora del Pueblito, meaning "The Virgin of the Little Town" and "Our Lady of the Little Town" respectively.
She is venerated at the sanctuary in Villa del Pueblito in the north-central state of Querétaro.
