This name is everything I like- a vintage name that hasn’t ‘come back’, long and dignified, reminiscent of a Victorian gentleman, it has a good nickname (Ralph/Ralphie, I don’t like Randy, no offense), and although it isn’t used anymore it’s still familiar and easy to say/spell. Also, as a Tolkien fan, I love that rhymes with Gandalf.
Not a fan. I prefer Randolf.
Randolph sounds too randy for my taste.
I really love this name it’s beyond cute for a young boy and sounds strong and timeless on a man, it’s a beautiful name indeed.
"Randolph" is my birth name. "Randy" is my nickname. Over 20 years ago I took an oath to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States' and I'm grateful and proud of that. I'm a son, big brother, uncle, godfather and father. I do my best to continue contributing to my society through charities and nonprofit organizations. I would never openly express dislike of anyone else's name.
Also the name of a town in Massachusetts.
The name Randolph was given to 44 boys born in the US in 2015.
I like this name, probably because I also like Randall and Rudolf.
Randolph Mantooth (1945-) is known for playing fireman/paramedic John Gage on "Emergency!" (1972 - 79).
Randolph Caldecott (1846-1886) was an English illustrator, painter and occasional sculptor.
Randolph Carter is the protagonist of several stories in H.P. Lovecraft's Dream Cycle.
Winston Churchill's only son bore this name.
Ugh, this sounds like one of those old-fashioned and pompous names elitist parents would give their sons back in the 40s and 50s. However, the nickname Randy just sounds quite trashy.
Randolph is real name of Trey Parker, one of the creators of famous cartoon, "South Park".
