Diminutive of Samantha. This was probably first used in Total Drama: Pahkitew Island, there was a character named Samey but her actual name was Samantha “Sammy”. She had a twin sister named Amy, which Samey was made to match the pronunciation with Amy. That abhors on Sammy and makes everyone call her “Samey”. Which Sammy takes offense of that.
