Samson is a cute name. I’m surprised it’s not more popular.
Also used in Poland, where it's pronounced SAM-sawn. (https://pl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samson_(imi%C4%99))
Like this a lot more than Samuel, which I don't even like to be honest!
Great name and Sonny is a cute nickname. I prefer this to Samuel.
This name doesn't really 'do it' for me personally, but it has lovely connotations thanks to Regina Spector's beautiful song of the same name, and the allusions that Leonard Cohen makes in 'Hallelujah'. I am not religious so I have no personal relationship with the biblical story, but it's an evocative tragedy and fascinating folklore! A great name!

This is literally my dog's name. I can not imagine it being a name for someone my age though. There are a lot of Samuels in my class however. If you want a name for a dog, this is a good name. Maybe if your name is Sam and you have a son his name could be Samson, idk man.

I don't care for it. Why not just Sam? The -son ending sounds very trendy and obnoxious to me. And yes, it does remind me of Samsung.
It’s really handsome and cute.
I'm surprised that this name isn't rated 100% strong.
Samson is a very handsome name. It does kinda sound like a surname though.
Samson Clogmeyer was the name of the germaphobic Guinea Pig from the cartoon "Camp Lazlo."
Isn’t this a surname?
Makes me think of Samsung.
It is also considered a form of "son of Sam".
Also used in Russia, written Самсон.
What a handsome, unique name. :)
Great name. I'm glad it's quickly climbing in popularity.
Underused.
This name is also used in Georgia, although it's not very common there. In Georgian, Samson is written as: სამსონ.
Indeed! The name was more common in older times, which is indicated by the existence of the Georgian patronymic surnames of სამსონაძე (Samsonadze), სამსონაშვილი (Samsonashvili), სამსონია (Samsonia), სამსონიძე (Samsonidze) and სამსონიშვილი (Samsonishvili). Also see:- https://web.archive.org/web/20130130165847/http://name.interes.ge/dreams.php?action=view&id=878&from=action=search|by=%E1%83%A1 (in Georgian)

On the German version of the children's show Sesame Street, a muppet bear named Samson was one of the original main characters, appearing on the show from 1978 until the 2010s.
Samson Satele (an American football player).
As Saru pointed out, Samson's hair wasn't the source of his strength. To clarify further, God was the source, and Samson's strength was from him. When Samson's hair was cut, he was no longer the Lord's Nazarene, and the Lord no longer blessed him with strength. [noted -ed]
To me Samson sounds very manly, brisk and brazen. Even to the point of being annoying at times.
I would never name my son Samson. It would always remind me of the Belgian children television series Samson and Gert. Samson is the name of a five-size puppet dog.
I like the name Samson because it has a sad but meaningful story behind it. And it's not overused, it's masculine yet sensitive. It's a keeper.
My name is Sam, and I think it would be fun to name my child Samson and then go by his middle name.
In the description of this name it states that Samson's hair was the source of his power. Technically this is an inaccurate statement; God was the source of his strength, his hair was merely a sign of his Nazarite vow.
"Samson" is a song by Regina Spektor.
My son's name is Duke Samson Jeremiah. We chose Samson for one of his middle names because it means "strong."
