Sigurd's name day in Norway is 23 December.
Sigurd is the name of the protagonist of the Icelandic fairy tale The Horse Gullfaxi and the Sword Gunnfoder.
As an above commenter pointed out, this name is actually borne by a main character in the video game Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, who journeys across the continent of Jugdral to drive out invasions and, eventually, clear his name of wrongdoing. Also, he has a close association with fire. Just wanted to tease that. :P.
This name is one of my favourite Norwegian names!
Um... what? Looks awkward and ugly and really, really harsh.
The main character of Fire Emblem Seisen No Keifu is named Sigurd. He was betrayed by his closest friend.
This is the given name of reality television show star and fisherman Capt. Sig Hansen of the F/V Northwestern.
Siegfried is the German variant of Sigurd in the Niebelungenlied.
There is also a Fresian version (Friesland - Far North of Holland - just under Denmark - Fries - the oldest nordic language) of the name, which is Sjoerd.
