Tanith

Not sure I love this one. It sounds like the name of a spice or a condiment somehow. It just sounds awkward and weird.

Of course I’m going to say it’s awesome because it’s the name of my daughter. She’s named after Tanith Lee and I love the name.

I named my daughter Tanith Catherine. Tanith after the Canadian ice skater as I watched her perform whilst pregnant and Catherine after my mum. I wanted her to have a unique name and not have to share her name with other girls at school like I did. Her surname is also rare and French in origin so she is definitely one of a kind!

I like this name. I really do, but I think it's one of the few girl names out there that save the meaning, could fit a boy no problem. I'm one of those people that's fine with gender-neutral names, and even irrelevant meanings, so, while I'm aware of how people respond to that kind of thing it seems like a rare enough name. Maria was unisex, and Allison is now, and I'm going to name a character Tanith!

My name is Tanif. It was supposed to be Tanith but my mum felt that as my middle name is Catherine it was a bit of a mouthful, so she changed the 'th' to an 'f'. I've been told that I was named after an ancient moon goddess or that the name is pagan in origin. I've since found out that the name comes from 'Tanit'. I have really loved having an unusual name even though many people get it wrong all the time! I sometimes wish that I had been christened the correct name 'Tanith' as now that I'm married to an Asian man, many people get very confused when I turn up as a blonde woman. Actually, it can be very funny.
Many people consider the name to be Welsh, and indeed I am half Welsh.

This is quite a cool sounding name. It's one of those mythological names that could easily work for a real person, and "Tani" could be a cute nickname. I also love the meaning, because I love snakes.

I find this a very interesting and original name, without being pretentious or ridiculous. It is one of the few names that actually get the balance right, I think. I'm not too keen on the meaning 'serpent lady', though. I like snakes, but I wouldn't want to be named after one.

This is my older sister's name and I really love it. But some persons do have a bit of problems to pronounce it the right way!
