What do you think of the name David?

Its starting to grow on me...(thanks to David Beckham). I dont think it will ever reach my top ten but I've come a long way since I used to hate it.
It's been growing on me a lot lately. It's a lot like John to me: simple, strong, trustworthy, and overlooked. I have never yet found the perfect middle name for my favorite boys name, Elijah, but David is in the running at this point. And personally, I like the biblical reference of him being a wise ruler, a mighty warrior, a prolific poet and composer, and a "man after God's own heart."
I love the name David, but I hate Dave.
I like it - strong and masculine. But it's rather common and I dislike its nicknames.
It's a great name--strong and classic but not boring.
I really love it, but I can't use it because it's my auntie's boyfriend's name
I love it [m]
It's a family name, and an awesome one at that. I don't know too many David's. I would defenitley consider using this name someday.

I love it especially with the nn Davy. Its a good solid name.
It's been a long time favorite for me, and right now I'm really, really loving it. It's just so classic and masculine and...wonderful!
I absolutely love it.
Love it. It's so simple, delicate, innocent, yet strong and dignified at the same time. And it has so much history! Not many names can come across like that IMO.
Although David's popular, I've only ever met three in my life, none of whom I have much contact with anymore. Either way, I'd still probably only use it as a middle name. I was thinking about Roger David a little while ago. :)
ETA: Here's a fun story of why I like David so much. "Davy Crockett" was one of my favorite songs as a small, small child, which originally drew me to the name a few years ago. I was watching a home video from when I was a little over two years old, and children's music was playing in the background. No matter what song was playing (for instance "Itsy Bitsy Spider" or "Twinkle Twinkle"), I'd still repeatedly belt out "DAVYYY, DAVY CROCKETT!", much to my at-the-time-six-year-old sister's dismay. :D

I love the name David. I don't usually like names that are in the top 20, but I feel that this name is a classic that always sounds nice.
I prefer Davis.
