How do you pronounce Emmeline: Emma-leen or Emma-line (I've also seen Emma-lynn)?
How do you feel about Emmeline? Do you think it will be lumped into the vastly prevalent group of Emma's and Emily's, or is it different enough to stand on its own?
Do you think it fits well with Heidi, Rhys, and Griffin?

I pronounce Emmeline with the long i sound although I'm pretty much weary of all Em names by this point. Having said that, as long as she isn't called Em or Emmy, the name will be more distinctive. Also, this is by far the best spelling. I think it's a great complement to your kids' names (especially Rhys and Griffin).
ETA that I actually prefer Emma-LEEN. It's just that the long i pronunciation is my default pronunciation.

I say Emma-line. Though, I like Emma-leen.
This could mostly be due to the song "Emaline" by Ben Folds.
I really like Emmeline. I do think that it is a spin on Emma & Emily, but I think it is also in the strand of Vivienne, which is gaining some popularity.
I'm not sure if it is an obvious fit. I think it is a bit longer than they other three, and it has a different feel for me. However, I wouldn't bad an eye to see any Emmeline in the mix.

So, since AA Milne knew how to rhyme, I see no reason to doubt him. (For the record, in the poem Emmeline comes home after a week, having been criticised because her hands weren't clean, and reports that she'd gone to see the Queen, who thought her hands were perfectly clean.)
However, I don't think she'd stay Emmeline for much more than three days. Then she'd be Emmie, and yes, submerged in the vast ocean of Emma and Emily people.
Heidi, Rhys, Griffin and Emily would do it for me. In spite of the popularity factor, Emily is just so darn beautiful! And Emma is very plain and Emmeline is very frilly.

I love Emmeline and would consider it for a kid possibly if I was doing some compromising. I also adore Emily and maybe prefer Emily but it's too popular for me.
I pronounce it with the 'leen' ending. My favourite nickname for it is Millie or Mils or some variation of that sound in the name.
I think it seems a little long and a bit less quirky than Heidi, Rhys, and Griffin. The pronunciation variations also turns me off a bit. Whenever there is a need to ask which pronunciation people use with each potential answer being pretty legitimate and I also suspect that it will be close to 50/50, I wonder to myself how much I'd like to have that name myself. My own name has about 5 'accepted' spellings and it's a pain in the butt. It also gets confused with similar names to it that are more popular. It also gets pronounced differently in different countries. My saving grace is that once people get the spelling down in Australia or the US, they do know how to pronounce it my way first go.
