I like it, nice medieval feeling to it. I would use Marianna for a daughter.

It's ok. I know a Marian who is in her 80's. It's not a name I would expect to make a come back as other new-old names have.

I love it! It reminds me of Robin Hood, too. I always used to prefer the spelling Marion but now Marian appeals to me more. I also like Marrion, which appears in Arthurian legend somewhere. (Can't remember who, sorry.)

I can't resist frills, I'd be most likely to use Latinate Marianna if I gave the name to a daughter.

and subsequently my little sister's mn (Leah Marion), though they spell it with an "o," a mistake in gender-centric spelling (Marion is the masculine; John Wayne's real name was Marion Morrison) that I attribute to my great-grandparents. I like it okay, it's never been one of my favorites.

It's a good name, but I'd never use it. Around here I only know people of the same age as my parents with this name. I like Marion better (and I thought that was the name out of the Robin Hood story). I think I'm pronopuncing this name different from you, I say mah-ree-AHN (and Marion: mah-ree-ON)

I think Marian is really pretty...I have only ever known or heard of a couple of people called Marian and all have been elderly ladies, but this name doesn't sound dated and is definitely ready for a comeback.

I really like it and am wondering why I've never really thought of it seriously before. I adore most Mary names and this on has been used by my dad's side of the family, a great aunt I believe.
I also like Marianne and the spelling Marion, WDYT?
