Marcus always reminds me of the movie/book “About a Boy”. What I can remember it’s the name of the boy.

I much prefer Marcus to Mark. Not enough to use, though. I like Marcus Richard and Marcus Nigel.

Yep, I would use it for a son. Probably call him Marc. WITH A CEE - poor kid.

There's no particular image or personality (except that it's very masculine and Mars-y) - it's just classicky, an empire name.
It's pleasingly racially empty, too - at least, when applied to an American. I dunno about in other places.

It's not one of my top choices, but I'd feel comfortable using it. Marcus is one of those names that seems like it could fit anyone.
