At one time in my life I could name at least 20 Jacks that I personally knew. It’s so dull and overused.

I love Jack, when pronounced in English. It feels strong and masculine to me. Probably due to movies though, were all Jack's are portrayed as Gods. Haha.I don't like it as much when pronounced in Swedish, I find it a bit harsh and too short somehow. Weird, since I don't get that feeling when pronounced in English and they are nearly pronounced the same.

I remember my grandmother's eldest brother John William, known as Jack, with great affection. I think he's the only Jack I've ever known personally, so my impression of the name is my impression of him. I would never think of using Jack as a full name in its own right - strictly a nn for John, and as such a whole lot better than Johnny; though I do know a splendid Johnny too.

I just don't like it. It's too nicknamey to stand on its own, to me, yet I can't say I really like it as a nickname, either. It just doesn't do anything for me.

Its one of my favorite boy names of all time! Its handsome and it ages well. But it is way too common to consider. It also irritates me that the name is a part of expressions that I hear often.
"Don't jack this up!"
Jackass - male donkey, also vulgar slang
And you know the rest, probably. But jack of all trades is a good association that almost makes up for that. And then the game jacks, and the card called a jack. Those aren't bad either.
