[Opinions] Cecily
Thoughts? I think this name is pretty underrated.

I do like it and wish it was used more, as it's a cute name. Though I prefer Cicely, I don't know why it just speaks to me more

I rate it very highly. Given another daughter, it would have been a very likely choice. My father was one of the last Cecil people - there are a few coming through now, but he was an outlier - and I wouldn't use that, but the fem version is lovely. I would have enjoyed being a Cecily myself, but my parents didn't think of it.I find Cecilia much too fussy and frilly and overdone. But Cecily is sleek and elegant!

I love Cecily. Even more than Cecilia, which I also love - it's just got that little extra charm to it. However I could never use it as I hate the nickname Cece.

I love it because it’s stately and even prissy but also has moxie. I prefer the “incorrect” (and botanical) Cicely, though.

I have a vague memory of meeting a Cecily as a young kid and getting it mixed up with Sicily and sesame. It still reminds me of sesame seeds, in that I feel Cecily is beige and maybe a little nutty. It strikes me as vivacious and proper/uppercrust but not very grounded. Cecile or Marjorie seem similar but more grounded to me, comparatively. It reminds me of Emily, which I don't like, and Rosalie, which is pretty in a vintage postcard type way.I don't dislike it overall -it's classic, energetic, and a change of pace from Cecilia: less dainty but somehow more prissy? Kind of like Viviana vs Vivian- but I don't really like it either.

I can’t say that I ever liked it, to be honest with you. It’s just kinda weird. Cecilia is a nice, classy, and pretty name. Even though Celia isn’t a part of the “blind” family, I prefer Celia though. Cecily isn’t bad, just kinda weird.

The name is venerable in its own right, and should probably be revived. Cecily Tyson is a good namesake. But I have never liked the sound of it. I prefer Cecelia, although I don't like that either. I like the nicknames Cece, Cily and Lily, the latter I haven't heard anywhere. My favorite name from Cecelia is actually little Celia.Even though its dated, there is no harm in liking it or bringing it back into fashion, particularly where I live. It would be a healthy change.
