I LOVE it esp for a mixed breed dog.

I like Cassie better than a lot of diminutive names like Sophie, Carrie, Millie, Bella, Marnie, Mila, and Elsie. It is very dated to the 80s and 90s though. On the plus side, I don't associate the name with just one individual since there are several minor tv/book/comic characters with the name, but none that really standout to me over the others.

I think it's frumpy trying to be spunky. Casey is better, if you want spunky that bad.

When I was very young I LOVED the name Cassidy. I thought it was magical, and as a result I loved Cassie too. I never knew any, so it seemed like a name from a fairy tale to me. Nowadays I find it a bit shrill, but there is still something likeable about it in an odd sort of way. I guess because of my childish admiration of it. It's got annoying brat vibes but the sort that has good intentions - like Jane Austen's character Emma, sort of. But I agree, it's not a great name. I watched a murder thriller recently where the deeply troubled and complex homicide detective was named Cassie and I immediately thought what a terrible name that was for her. There's nothing complex or troubled about Cassie.

I like it, but I can't really explain why. I just think it has a nice sound and character.
I don't like it as a full name, but I like it as the kind of nickname where you never really learn the person's full name.

Well, I’ve always loved it; ever since I was small, it has reminded me of Cassie from Dragon Tales (who was my favorite character).
