[Opinions] Étienne
Today I was thinking about the name Etienne, and I've started to like it (it's now on my favorites list for a boy). What do you think of it?

I love it, I don't think I would ever use it here (in the U.K) but it's one of my favourite French names.

I think of Rutger Hauerwhich may seem very weird, that a French name reminds me of a Dutch actor, but he starred in an American movie, LadyHawke, playing a fictitious French knight named Etienne de Navarre. Etienne is on my favorites list in his honor. :D~Lillian~

I think of Etienne AignerMy mom owns a lot of those shoes. Other than that it reminds me of my friend Michelle because it's one of her favorite names. Neither association is negative.

Reminds me of...coureur des bois Étienne Brûlé, a relatively significant historical figure in Great Lakes region history. I think he was something of a traitor and was beaten to death by the Hurons. :-/ Aside from that unfortunate connection, which really is the overshadowing impression of the name in my mind since I'm big on this area's history, I think it's a nice name.

It's a great French name, but if you are living in US, it doesn't sound the same with an American accent. Sounds like "A T N" when americans say it. (I'm American, so I mean no offense to anyone."
